The Prime Minister repeatedly told the House of Commons that due process was followed in appointing Peter Mandelson as British Ambassador to the United States.
But evidence has come to light that suggests Mandelson failed security vetting and his appointment went ahead despite his relationship with the paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
That directly contradicts the assurances given by the PM to Parliament and the public.
If the Prime Minister has misled the House, the consequences are clear.
