Council Admits: No Minutes, No Legal Advice, and No Plan for the B3191

After challenging Somerset Council’s refusal to release information, I have forced them to disclose the truth behind the permanent closure of the B3191. The documents reveal a shocking lack of governance.

1. The "Ghost Ship" Decision The Council admitted that "No minuted internal meetings... were held in relation to this matter". A decision that devastates Watchet and ignores 1,000+ objections was made without a single written record of the discussion.

2. No Legal Advice Taken Despite claiming the road had to close for legal reasons, they have now admitted: "This matter was handled... without the need for legal advice". They sealed the permanent order without checking if it was legally sound.

3. 4,000 Hidden Emails They admitted to holding 4,372 emails and messages about the road but refused to release them, claiming it would cost too much to read them. They have the answers; they just won't share them.

4. The Funding Failure The report admits the closure "can be revoked... if funding is identified", yet they haven't held a single formal meeting to find that money. They gave up on us before they even started.
